Belarus set to host 2009 Symposium
6 July 2009 – Now it’s official – the XXX AEFCA Symposium is going to take place in the Belarusian capital, Minsk, from 24 to 28 October 2009.
On behalf of the Belarus Football Federation (BFF), President Gennadi Nevyglas and General Director Leonid Dmitranitsa confirmed they would be happy to host this year’s congress in close co-operation with the Belarus coaches’ association, BFCA, headed by national team head coach Bernd Stange.
On the occasion of a recent visit to Minsk by the AEFCA General Secretary, the BFF leadership had responded very favourably to the idea of using the Symposium as a welcome opportunity to play host to a considerable number of top coaches from Europe and overseas, and to present Belarus, a young nation of just under 10 million inhabitants, as an up-and-coming football nation. At a further meeting during the European Under-21 Championship in Sweden in the presence of AEFCA President Dr. Jozef Vengloš, BFF finally confirmed the hosting. The BFF recognises the magnitude of the task ahead but is keen to rise to the challenge with dedication and commitment.
