Dr Jozef Vengloš receives Lothar Meurer Honorary Award
22 December 2010 – In Warsaw on 6 December 2010, the old and new President of the AEFCA, Dr Jozef Vengloš, was presented with the Lothar Meurer Honorary Award by the members of the body’s Executive Committee.
Jozef Vengloš is only the fifth person to receive the honour that is awarded by the AEFCA for the holders’ tireless commitment and extraordinary service to the coaching profession (cf. navigation point
“About Us / LOM-Award”).
In his speech, UEFA Technical Director Andy Roxburgh, who had last preceded Dr Vengloš in receiving the LOM Award, praised the awardee for his lifelong devotion to the game in general, and to the AEFCA in particular.
Supported by a film specially produced for the occasion, Roxburgh recounted the key coaching assignments held – and laurels won over the years – by “Gentleman Joe”, who was visibly moved when accepting the award to the applause of some 350 colleagues from all over the world.
