Elections of new AEFCA Executive Committee offer no surprises

20. December 2010  –  The XXXI AEFCA Symposium, held in the Sheraton Hotel Warsaw from 4 to 7 December 2010, coincided with the triennial General Assembly of the European coaches’ organisation, the agenda of which featured, amongst other items, the approval of the new statutes and the elections to the new AEFCA Executive Committee.

The latter yielded the following results (from a total of 45 member organisations, 39 were represented, of which 37 were entitled to vote):

1. All sitting members unanimously (37) re-elected by open vote, as there were no rival candidates:

President: Dr. Jozef Vengloš / SVK
1st Vice-President: Horst Zingraf / GER
2nd Vice-President José Pereira    / POR
Treasurer: Wim Adolfsen / NED

Together with General Secretary Karlheinz Raviol, who was also confirmed in office for the 2010 – 2013 term, the above persons will form the AEFCA Presidium for the following three years.

2. New election of six (6) Vice-Presidents by secret ballot as a total of 11 candidacies had been presented. The votes counted resulted in the following ranking:

Jukka Vakkila / FIN
Dr. Franco Ferrari / ITA
Jean-Pierre Morlans/ FRA
Dr. Zdenek Sivek /CZE
Fredi Fiorentini / CRO
Craig Brown / SCO

Ismail Dilber    / TUR
Andreas T. Michaelides / CYP
Jacques Muller / LUX
Philip Müller    / SUI
Renzo Ulivieri / ITA

Accordingly, the first six persons referred to above will join the Executive Committee as equal Vice-Presidents, while Messrs. Dilber, Michaelides, Muller, and Müller will be represented in the ExCo as co-opted members with no right to vote.

3. Three candidates presented themselves for the elections of the two auditors (one deputy):

Branko Elsner / SLO
Jürgen Pforr    / GER
Wilhelm Temper / AUS

In an open “en bloc” vote, these colleagues received 35 from 37 possible votes.

Our congratulations go out to the old and new office holders, together with our gratitude for their past and future contributions to the AEFCA leadership.

We would also like to extend thanks to our colleague Urs Siegenthaler/SUI, who retires from his position as a co-opted member, and to auditor Stefan Nemeth/AUT who, having served three consecutive terms, was not allowed by the statutes to stand for re-election.

New to the team: Wilhelm Temper (President BÖFL, left) and Philip Müller (President USFT, right)
