Johan Cruyff Institute and VVON sign academic collaboration agreement

The VVON (the Association of Football Coaches in the Netherlands) and Johan Cruyff Institute have become official corporate partners through the signing of an academic collaboration agreement

Johan Cruyff Institute and the VVON signed a collaboration agreement on October 1 to reinforce each other in academic matters. The agreement brings special advantages for the members, affiliated trainers and staff of the association, who can obtain interesting discounts of up to 20% on the study programs in sport management, sport marketing and sponsorship, football business and coaching offered by Johan Cruyff Institute, and aims to stimulate the development of their professional career.

In addition, Henk Groener, professor of the Master in Coaching and head coach of the German women’s handball team, will provide a special workshop on how to build a successful team for VVON members in January 2020.

The VVON has represented the interests of football coaches in the Netherlands since 1946 and currently has more than 4,000 members, to whom it offers help and advice in entering into an employment contract, mediation in labor disputes and professional legal assistance in the event of removal from active duty/dismissal and in arbitration cases. In addition, the VVON sees it as its task to constantly improve the knowledge of its members and to take them to a higher level by organizing training sessions, such as study days, conferences and symposia, and by offering online practice exercises.

VVON chairman Arnold Westen is very happy with the collaboration agreement: “By entering into a partnership with Johan Cruyff Institute, we can offer our members even more and better opportunities to further develop themselves. This form of collaboration fits very well with our ambition to offer our members the opportunity to continue to learn and develop themselves as trainer-coaches.”
