17 June 2013 – At the last meeting of the AEFCA Executive Committee in Amsterdam on 14/15 May 2013, those present unanimously approved the applications submitted by the coaches’ bodies of Kazakhstan and Wales to become members of the Alliance with effect from 1 July 2013.
This raises the number of members to a total of 48 coaches’ bodies from 46 countries. Watch this space for more detailed information about the two newcomers.
UEFA has provided us with the latest status (as of 25 March 2013) of its Coaching Convention memberships.

The attendees of the XXII National Coaches Congress hosted by the Portuguese coaches’ association ANTF in Aveiro elected José Pereira (62) their new President.
Having held this position before, Pereira, who is also one of the AEFCA’s current Vice-Presidents, is set to chair the ANTF for a three-year-term (until 2016), assisted by 14 Vice-Presidents who constitute the organisation’s highest executive body. For additional information, visit www.antf.pt.
In Greece, the HFFC held its General Assembly in Athens on 25/26 May 2013, where Ilias Logaras and Evagelos Prokos were re-elected President and General Secretary, respectively.
The other board members are Apostolos Nembegleras (Vice-President), Ioannis Kandas (Treasurer), as well as Dimitrios Christoforidis, Lambros Andriopoulos, Ioannis Georgiadis,

At the English coaches’ body FACA (a part of The FA), national coach educator Geoff Pike (56) will be the AEFCA’s new contact, taking over from Steve Rutter who is going to be the assistant of head coach Ioannis Anastasiou of Athens club Panathinaikos FC from 1 July 2013. Geoff, we greatly look forward to co-operating with you!
The Turkish city of Mardin was the venue for the third board meeting of the national coaches’ association TÜFAD whose members were pleased and honoured to welcome, for the first time, Dr Güven Erdil (56), in his capacity of technical director for football development at the national association TFF.
Erdil’s participation is considered a milestone in TÜFAD’s long history, and is intended to intensify relations and encourage co-operation between both organisations. Read more about the event (in Turkish only) here
