Portuguese Coaches Association « ANTF » (Associacao Nacional dos Treinadores De Futebol) chaired by its President Jose Pereira, hosted the 1st AEFCA Legal Symposium in Guimaraes, Portugal.
AEFCA Legal Department Dr. Luca Perdomi and Dr. Sergio Araujo organised a tremendous event for Lawyers, Legal Advisers and Legal Represenatives of AEFCA member organisations. Almost 50 delegates of member organisations and International Football Bodies followed the invitation.
AEFCA President Walter Gagg, ANTF President Jose Pereira and Mr. Fernando Gomes, President of the portuguese Football Federation, welcomed all participants in Guimaraes.
The event started with a round table – portuguese coaches Paulo Bento, Henrique Calisto and Bernardino Pedroto reported their expiriences abroad about contracts that were not fulfilled, visa problems and different law regulations in different countries.
Dr. Joao Nogueira da Rocha, CAS Arbitror, reported about rules, regulations and procedures in CAS. He showed problems of different applicable law-systems and talked about FIFA disciplinary code and the New-York Convention.
Dr. Andreu Camps i Povill , CAS Mediator, inspired about CAS mediation, quick, simple and flexible handling of legal disputes.
Dr. Luca Miranda spoke about the International Resolution of the disputes between Coaches and Clubs and eventual conflicts with domestic courts.
Dr. Ludovic Delechat (FIFA) and Dr. Jaime Campreleng (FIFA) talked about Legal Basics, tasks of FIFA’s Players Statutes Committee and Disciplinary Committee.
Dr. Joao Leal, Chairman oft he Legal Department of FPF, discussed Sports Legal Regime of Football Federations versus Swiss Legal Regime.
Dr. Paolo Lourenco, Secretary General of FPF, showed problems related to pension and tax situations of coaches.
Dr. Sergio Araujo, Legal Department of AEFCA, closed the event by outlining the necessity of creating a European network of Lawyers and Legal Advisors for the coaches of AEFCA member organisations.
All participants emphazised the importance of this Legal Symposium and suggested the continuation with the next Symposium within a short period.
